Columbia Southern University Achieves SACSCOC Accreditation

Greetings,

Today is a momentous occasion for our university, our students and alumni, and for our community. I am pleased to announce that as of Dec. 6, 2022, Columbia Southern University has been granted institutional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). We have worked diligently towards this goal and today we celebrate this historic milestone.

As a SACSCOC accredited institution, CSU joins the ranks of the South’s leading flagship universities, underscoring its educational quality and integrity. Maintaining institutional accreditation not only ensures quality and integrity of academic programs, it also serves to verify a high level of instruction, student support and other services to assist students in achieving their educational goals. Currently, CSU is also accredited through the Distance Education Accrediting Commission and has maintained its institutional accreditation since Jan. 15, 2001.

SACSCOC accreditation indicates that CSU has met the expectations and guidelines of an institutional accreditor. For CSU students, this represents a step forward in acceptance of transfer credit and acceptance of degrees by other institutions and employers. For the institution itself, SACSCOC accreditation provides CSU the ability to engage with more potential partnerships, articulation agreements, and pathways for our students and alumni.

Students, should you have questions or if you are interested in learning more, please email your academic advisor. Alumni, please email CSU-Alumni@ColumbiaSouthern.edu.

I want to thank you for your commitment to Columbia Southern University. It is a privilege to work with you and for you.

With gratitude,

Dr. Ken Styron
President
