Joshua Haraway
Joshua Haraway was recently appointed as fire chief of the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. He has worked in the fire service since 2002. He has held titles such as captain, relief battalion chief and EMT. Haraway earned his associate degree in fire science at CSU and is working on his bachelor’s in fire administration.

Michael Taylor
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson appointed Michael Taylor of Marshfield, Missouri, to the Coroner Standards and Training Commission. Taylor is the current fire chief of the Marshfield Fire Protection District. He is a licensed paramedic, certified EMS instructor and is a member of the Missouri Coroner and Medical Examiners Association board of directors. He is a 2012 CSU graduate.

Kevin Lanier
Kevin Lanier has been selected as deputy chief of operations for the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services in Cherokee County, Georgia. In 2021, Lanier rose to the rank of division chief serving as the A-shift commander and in the same year became a certified Georgia chief fire officer from the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. He is a CSU student working on his bachelor’s in fire administration.

Jon “Steve” Mason
The Wilmington Fire Department, located in Wilmington, North Carolina, has selected Jon “Steve” Mason as their newest fire chief. Mason has served as the interim chief since September 2021. “To be given the privilege of leading the outstanding men and women of the Wilmington Fire Department is the honor of a lifetime,” Mason said. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia Southern University.

Jason Satterwhite
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative has promoted Jason Satterwhite to managing director of Regional Operations for the Eastern Region. Satterwhite serves as the head of the Eastern Region staff assuming responsibility for employees’ performance and well-being. He is a 2014 CSU graduate.

Robert Moore
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott recently appointed Robert Moore of Bryan, Texas, to the Firefighters’ Star of Texas Award Advisory Committee. The committee advises the governor on the issuance, design and presentation of the Firefighters’ Star of Texas Award. This award is given to firefighters who are seriously injured in the line of duty and the surviving next of kin of each firefighter who is killed or sustains a fatal injury in the line of duty. Moore is the deputy agency director and chief operating officer of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. He received his bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.

Edward Hales
Edward Hales has been named the fire chief for the Spanish Fork Fire and EMS Department in Spanish Fork, Utah. Hales is a fourth-generation firefighter and will be the department’s fire full-time chief. He is a 2014 CSU graduate.
