CSU Alumnus Named Assistant Town Manager

Mark Moore has begun his new role as assistant town manager in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He previously served as the director of parks and recreation in Pittsylvania County. Moore received his master’s of public administration from CSU.

CSU Alumnus Becomes Chief Fire Officer

Landry Merkison, the Clayton County (Georgia) Fire & Emergency Services fire chief, has earned the title of chief fire officer by the Commission of Professional Credentialing. Merkison was named the Outstanding Fire Service Professional at CSU in 2019 and earned his bachelor’s degree in fire science in 2015.

CSU Graduate in Running for Police Chief Position

Deputy Chief Brad McKeone is one of five finalists for the position of police chief in San Marcos, Texas. He currently serves as the deputy chief of operations for the Coral Springs (Florida) Police Department. He earned his bachelor’s in criminal justice and master’s in criminal justice administration from CSU.

CSU Knight Elected to Foundation Board of Directors

Phyllis Grover was elected to the board of directors of The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region in Maryland. She is also the director of the department of planning and community development for the City of Aberdeen. Grover earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from CSU and is currently pursuing her MBA.

CSU Graduate Hired as Fire Chief

Aaron Collette is the newest fire chief in Williston, Vermont. He previously served as deputy fire chief in Burlington, Vermont, where he worked for 25 years. Collette earned his bachelor’s degree in fire science from CSU and completed the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer program in 2019.
