Michael Koehler
Michael Koehler of Rochester Hills, Michigan, has been appointed to the Fire Fighters Training Council. Koehler is the deputy fire chief with the city of Troy and holds a master’s degree in fire executive leadership and a Master of Public Administration degree from CSU. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate certificate in fire integrated research.
Christopher Walker
The University of South Florida College of Public Health (COPH) has welcomed Christopher Walker to the staff to start the 2026 academic year. He is a safety and health consultant with the COPH OSHA Education Center and brings 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy. During his tenure, he managed explosive safety, weapons handling safety and aviation safety programs. Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from CSU.
Adam Rogers
Windham (Maine) Fire Rescue has recognized Captain Adam Rogers for his devotion to his local community. Rogers has been with the department for 18 years. In addition, Rogers serves as the department’s paramedic student live-in coordinator, which includes ensuring new recruits receive necessary gear, certifications and training along their paths to becoming firefighters. He is currently pursuing an associate degree in fire science from CSU.
Ryan Woodey
South King Fire (Washington) has appointed Ryan Woodey to the role of fire chief. He began his fire service career in 2002 as a volunteer firefighter with Graham Fire and Rescue, where he served for 20 years. He accepted a position as deputy fire chief with the Kirkland Fire Department in 2023 and continued his service until his appointment as fire chief with South King Fire. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
Benjamin Alma
Benjamin Alma of West Palm Beach, Florida, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who for his expertise in law enforcement. He currently serves as the civilian division manager for public safety in the state of Florida, where he oversees the 911 center, code enforcement, police service aides and all administrative staff. Alma has served in a leadership role in public safety since 2008 and is also an adjunct professor and training officer at the police academy. He earned a master’s degree in criminal justice and a Master of Public Administration degree from CSU.
Brent Ham
The Dickson (Tennessee) Fire Department recently appointed Brent Ham to assistant chief. Ham is a 22-year veteran firefighter and began his career as a volunteer firefighter with the department in 2003. He was hired full time in September 2006. Ham was appointed to lieutenant in 2014 and served in that position for eight years. In 2023, he was promoted to the role of training captain. He holds an associate degree in fire science and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
Wangdu Hovey
The Maui Fire Department recently promoted Wangdu Hovey to the role of battalion chief aide. He joined the department in 2018 and has worked with several fire departments, including Wailea, Kīhei, Pāʻia and Kahului fire stations. Hovey earned an associate degree in fire science from CSU.
Michael (Josh) Rogers
The Hood River (Oregon) Fire Department has selected Michael (Josh) Rogers as its new fire chief. He brings a wealth of leadership experience and an in-depth understanding of EMS and fire operations to the position. He previously served with the Dallas (Oregon) Fire Department, where he most recently served as deputy fire chief. Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
Erik Klevmyr
Erik Klevmyr of Turlock, California, has been appointed to the State 911 Advisory Board. He has served as fire warden and director of emergency services with the Stanislaus County Office since 2024. Additionally, he served as fire chief with Keyes Fire Protection District from 2002-2020. He received a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
