Enrollment specialist Paulette Lopez has been working in the student accounts department at CSU since September 2024. She enjoys helping students understand the financial aspects of their enrollment and successfully register for their programs. In addition to her role at CSU, Paulette is seeking a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
We asked Paulette to share more about her role at CSU and what she loves most about her career:
- Can you describe your role at CSU? I am an enrollment specialist in the student accounts department. I assist students with the financial side of their enrollment. Students call us when they have questions about outgoing funds, incoming funds, refunds, receipts, etc. We tend to do a lot!
- What do you enjoy most about your job? I know it sounds cliché, but the people are genuinely the best part of my job. I sincerely enjoy talking to my coworkers about their lives. I also enjoy talking to students and assisting them with whatever they need.
- What advice would you give to a CSU student? My advice would be to keep a close watch on your emails. We send you important deadlines and updates via email. Also, there is a stipend schedule on the CSU website for those who use financial aid. Here is the link for anyone interested! Financial Aid Disbursement Schedule
- What is your favorite CSU memory or moment? My favorite memory was my second Fall Bash. I am very introverted, so it takes some time for me to make friends. But now that I have been here a while, I have friends within the department and we had a great, stress-free day where we just got to fellowship together.
- What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I am finishing my bachelor’s degree here at CSU this year (praise Jesus), so I am spending most of my time doing schoolwork. When I am not doing schoolwork or working, I enjoy watching movies, playing tennis, reading books and just being in nature. South Alabama is beautifully diverse in both its environment and its people. It is a blessing to be able to live in it.
