Firefighter Patrick Holland Promoted to Lieutenant
Firefighter and medic Patrick Holland of the Ridgefield (Connecticut) Fire Department was recently promoted to lieutenant. He began his career with the department in 1994. Holland is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fire administration at CSU.
AmeriCorps Honors Knight for Community Efforts
AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) recently named Angel Jones of Warrenton, North Carolina, as the November 2018 VISTA of the Month serving in the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from CSU and is seeking an MBA currently.
Deputy Chief Scott Kujawa Named Fire Chief
Ohio’s Washington Township selected Deputy Chief Scott Kujawa to be its next fire chief. Kujawa has served the department for 27 years, including the last three years as deputy chief in charge of operations. During that time, he has twice overseen the fire department’s successful accreditation process through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Kujawa holds a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
Thomas Murphy Named Undersheriff in New York County
Maj. Thomas Murphy of the Essex County New York Sheriff’s Office, was recently named undersheriff. Murphy is an 18-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, the recipient of the 2012 National Sheriff’s Association Scholarship and a recipient of the 2015 New York Sheriff’s Institute Correction Officer of the Year award. Murphy earned his master’s degree in criminal justice administration from CSU.
