Eric Trottier
Eric Trottier has launched FireMed, LLC, a company dedicated to providing high quality EMS and health care education for emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced emergency medical technicians (AEMTs), paramedics and firefighters. He has been a paramedic with Cataldo EMS since 2023 and has an extensive background in emergency services. Trottier earned a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from Columbia Southern University.

Ian F. Campbell
Asset Compliant Solutions (ACS) has appointed Ian F. Campbell to senior vice president and director of operations. In his new role, Campbell will focus on enhancing operational efficiencies and expanding capacity to build on ACS’s reputation as a full-service provider in the collections, recovery and portfolio optimization space. “I look forward to partnering with financiers and servicers on best business practices and industry trends, while helping to build out additional servicing offerings from ACS to better suit the needs of this fast-growing industry,” Campbell said. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from CSU.

Laura Sullivan
Great Southern Bank in Meridian, Mississippi, has promoted Laura Sullivan to network administration officer. A Meridian native, Sullivan began her banking career with Great Southern Bank in 2021 as its network administrator. Sullivan previously worked with Koch Foods as a physical security specialist and taught information systems technology at East Central Community College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in information technology from CSU.

Jessica Reed
The city of Barstow, California, has announced Jessica Reed as the senior administrative analyst in the human resources department. She has 18 years of experience serving the city as she previously held the same title in the city’s environmental services department. In her previous roles, she worked as a municipal records clerk and later as an administrative analyst. Reed is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership at CSU.

Travis Solomon
Chief Travis Solomon of the Oak Ridge Fire Department in Tennessee spoke on Sept. 25 about the newly installed Safe Haven Baby Box, which was unveiled June 12 at the city’s Central Fire Station, also known as Fire Station No. 3. The Safe Haven Baby Box provides a place for mothers in crisis to anonymously place their baby for adoption. The baby will be taken care of promptly and the mother will not be identified or prosecuted. Chief Solomon has worked for more than 25 years in emergency services and was promoted to chief in 2016. Solomon is a 2013 CSU graduate.

Malisha Palmer
Malisha Palmer of Herndon, Virginia, has published a book titled “The Right Way Home.” Published by Fulton Books, Palmer’s book is a heartfelt and charming tale of two siblings who are forced to make a difficult choice after discovering their new puppy already has a home. Palmer is not only an author but also a U.S. Army veteran with a career spanning 25 years. She earned her master’s degree in occupational safety and health from CSU.

Chris Boles
Chris Boles of Lutz, Florida, is running for county commissioner, District 6, in Hillsborough County. Boles is the Hillsborough County firefighter charities director and union treasurer. “I have firsthand experience of the county’s evolution of urban growth, worsening traffic challenges and ongoing public safety concerns,” he said. “I have saved lives, battled fires both figuratively and literally, and collaborated with leaders to prioritize public safety. My extensive real-life experiences uniquely qualify me to serve as county commissioner.” He is a 28-year veteran firefighter and received his bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.

Ron Blumer
The Madison Fire Department has appointed Monticello, Wisconsin, native Ron Blumer to fire chief. Prior to his new role, Blumer worked as a division chief in Madison and joined the MFD in October of 1995. He started his firefighting career as a volunteer firefighter in 1992. “Being a firefighter is basically you’re there to serve the community,” he said. “No matter what it is. When they are calling for help, our job is to respond and answer that call. It is any time of day, no matter what you’re doing.” He held several titles while serving with MFD, including firefighter, paramedic, apparatus engineer, lieutenant and fire training captain. Blumer is a 2023 CSU graduate.

Steven Nordhaus
U.S. Air Force Gen. Steven Nordhaus has been appointed the 30th chief of the National Guard Bureau. In his new role, he spoke about the work the bureau is doing in the aftermath of the hurricanes. “Our guardsmen are working tirelessly to respond to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton,” he said. “They are saving families in devastated communities. They are clearing roads and establishing distribution sites so our fellow Americans can regain access to life-saving food and water.” Nordhaus received a master’s degree in organizational leadership from CSU.
