Araceli Saunders
U.S. Air Force Capt. Araceli Saunders, a search and rescue pilot assigned to the 188th Rescue Squadron, 150th Operations Group, 150th Special Operations Wing, New Mexico Air National Guard, returned home April 10th following a busy deployment in Saudi Arabia. While deployed, Saunders became the first pilot in the 188th to execute an airdrop of the Air Force’s Search and Rescue Tactical Vehicle – Side by Vehicle (SRTV-SXV) and 25 Guardian Angels, a non-aircraft weapon system the Air Force uses for Combat Search and Rescue and Personnel Recovery missions. She is a 2015 CSU graduate.

Larry Smith
The City of Waskom has welcomed Larry Smith as their new police chief. With over 20 years in law enforcement, Smith said he is looking forward to this new journey. “I’m very excited to be here and get started and try to make that bond stronger between the police department and the community … try to bring us up where we can have relationship,” he said. He is a 2012 CSU graduate.

Josh Duffy
REMSA Health announced the promotion of Josh Duffy to director of support services. Duffy joined REMSA Health in 2005 and has held positions including vehicle services technician, advanced emergency services technician (AEMT), logistics supervisor and procurement manager. He holds an associate degree in occupational safety and health from CSU.

Sandi Golden-Vest
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has named Sandi Golden-Vest as the agency’s new superintendent of the Division of Safety & Hygiene. She has over 27 years of experience in various programmatic and leadership roles. “I’m honored and excited to take on this new role,” Golden-Vest said. “I look forward to advancing and strengthening our efforts to keep workers throughout Ohio safe and healthy on the job with the goal of getting them home safely at the end of each workday.” She is a 2018 CSU graduate.

Todd Leipzig
Captain Todd Leipzig has been promoted to battalion chief of the Kenosha Fire Department (KFD). He has been a member of the department for 24 years. In his time at the KFD, he has served as a member of the Apparatus committee, as well as a paramedic preceptor and field training officer. He holds an associate and bachelor’s degree in fire science from CSU.

Kevin Edwards
The New Hope Borough Council has hired Kevin Edwards as the town’s chief law enforcement officer. He began his law enforcement career as a police officer in 1990. He holds an associate and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from CSU.
