Nicole Skrintney
Columbia Southern University and the International Association of Arson Investigators recently presented Nicole Skrintney of Prairieville, Louisiana, with a scholarship to pursue an online degree.
“Higher education has always been something I have wanted and strived for, especially in a field where I can do good for others. I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and have always loved being in school and learning,” she said.
O’Marr Truesdale
Technical Sergeant O’Marr Truesdale was recently awarded the Kaleth O. Wright Excellence in Leadership Scholarship. Truesdale is currently working as an Executive Communications Technician for the Pacific Air Forces Commander, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. With this scholarship, he plans on completing his bachelor’s degree in information technology followed by a master’s degree in business management.
“This degree would give me another way to help mentor and mold Airman around me. Especially since the number of troops that will depend on me will increase as I progress through the ranks in the Air Force,” he said.
Lawrence Edwards
Columbia Southern University is proud to partner with the International Association of Black Professional Fire Fighters (IABPFF) to present this year’s Chief Joseph L. Jones Scholarship Award to Lawrence Edwards of Flint, Michigan.
Touko Vale
Touko Vale has been named the recipient of the Alexandria Lian Reed Academic Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship is presented to a student in the Junior Reserve Office Training Corps Program who demonstrates academic excellence and leadership qualities throughout their JROTC tenure; the student shows great potential for increased leadership roles.
