The following press release was distributed by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals on Sept. 10, 2019, to announce a new partnership with Columbia Southern University.
The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) welcomes Columbia Southern University (CSU) as a partner in the delivery of the leading-edge pre-exam training to be provided through examCORE by BCSP.
The organizations’ combined offering will provide safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practitioners greater access to quality training and opportunity for career advancement. CSU’s SH&E programs include 5,324 active students and count 14,638 graduates, including those employed as specialists, managers, and directors in safety programs of organizations such as Amazon, Bayer, Fluor, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Navy.
BCSP examCORE is an interactive, online pre-exam training program that supports SH&E practitioners’ professional development. The training addresses the knowledge and skills found in BCSP certification examination blueprints, covering SH&E topics necessary for certification and identified as essential by industry leaders. BCSP examCORE will include access to Dr. David Yates’ eBook, Safety Professional’s Reference and Study Guide, as well as the calculator needed for exam day. The training is backed by a guarantee, which includes a complimentary extension for those dedicated to achieving certification.
BCSP’s CEO, Dr. Treasa Turnbeaugh, CSP, ASP, CET, FASSP, CAE, stated, “BCSP is proud to partner with CSU in the delivery of this training. The examCORE program utilizes adaptive training to provide candidates content customized for them. It includes challenging exercises and sample questions that will ready them for examination and to achieve certification.”
“Professional development and education go hand in hand,” said Ken Styron, president of CSU. “As a university that is dedicated to elevating occupational safety and health, a significant industry for our students and alumni, we are eager to partner with an industry leader like the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.”
