Alumna Named OSH 4 Under 40

Cynthia Loza, safety manager at Buckner Heavylift Cranes, was named one of four rising stars under the age of 40 in the safety industry by Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) News. Loza earned her AAS in occupational safety and health from CSU.

Knight Appointed Commander in Michigan State Police

F/Lt. Jason Nemecek will serve as the post commander in Gaylord, Mich. He began at the Michigan State Police in 2004. His first day as Gaylord Post commander was March 24, the day he was also promoted to first lieutenant. Nemecek received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from CSU.

Alumnus, Deputy Chief and Fire Marshal Selected as Marshal of the Year

Jerry Stricker of the Golden, Colo. Fire Department has been selected as the Inaugural Fire Marshals Association of Colorado Fire Marshal of the Year. He has served as fire marshal in Golden for 23 years. In 2010, after a 25 year break from academics, he earned his bachelor’s degree in fire science from CSU.

Knight Pens Book, Presents for Investigators Summit

William Losefsky of Laconia, New Hampshire presented “Conducting a Successful Admission Seeking Interview” for the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators on April 2. He is also in the process of authoring his first book on the subject. Losefsky serves as the chief of security for LRGHealthcare and received his MBA from CSU in 2011.

Knight Promoted to Fire Chief

Eloy Ricardo was recently promoted to fire chief for the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District in Florida. He has served the district for 19 years, beginning as a firefighter and being promoted to engineer, acting lieutenant and deputy chief. Ricardo earned his bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
