After many requests and profound interest, the CSU Alumni Association has launched its first regional chapter!
According to Mark Briscoe, CSU career specialist with the Student and Alumni Engagement Department, the new regional chapter is based in Atlanta and will work to expand the opportunities for involvement within the Alumni Association. The chapter was officially announced in late July during a reception at the Georgia Aquarium.
“When CSU alumni are surveyed on what they would most like to see from their alumni organization, the No. 1 answer has been increased networking,” explained Briscoe. This interest was a key reason for establishing regional chapters, group guidelines and requirements.
The chapters will be determined by Student and Alumni Engagement which looks for enough alumni in the region of interest to warrant the creation of a chapter. If you are interested in starting a chapter, please review the articles and documents then email csu-alumni@columbiasouthern.edu if you have questions or ideas.
Briscoe said he has heard from several regions already interested in starting a chapter, but reminds all to please be patient with the process.
“This is a thrilling opportunity for our alumni to connect and build relationships,” he said. “Atlanta is our first endeavor and we are taking it slow to use it as a model to build future chapters upon. We are so thrilled with the response to this chapter and look forward to duplicating its success. We truly appreciate the patience of alumni as we slowly and fully establish the Atlanta chapter and prepare to move forward in launching other regional chapters.”
