Jacqueline Greenaway of Stone Mountain, Georgia, has been named the recipient of the Learning Partner Scholarship. She is employed as an accountant with the City of Atlanta.
“Over the next five years, my goal is to complete my master’s degree in psychology/mental health while continuing my career with the City of Atlanta as I work toward retirement,” she said.
With this scholarship, Greenaway plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
“I want to help families recognize the early signs of mental health struggles, understand the seriousness of these conditions and feel supported—not overlooked,” she said. “With this degree, I hope to be part of the solution for families who are trying to support a loved one through the challenges of mental illness, a struggle that has taken far too many lives unnecessarily.”
After putting college on hold to attend to family matters, Greenaway is ready to continue her education where she left off.
“I chose to enroll at Columbia Southern University because of the strong reputation it holds as a partner institution with the City of Atlanta,” she stated. “In my experience, the city is very thorough and diligent when selecting affiliates, so knowing that CSU is one of those trusted partners spoke volumes about the university’s quality, credibility and commitment to student success.”
Greenaway feels that an online learning format will work for her given her demanding work schedule, and after seeing colleagues earn their diplomas, she felt she could earn hers too.
“I also learned that many of my colleagues have successfully completed their degrees through CSU and consistently speak about the ease and flexibility of the online learning environment,” she said. “For someone like me, balancing a demanding full‑time job and family responsibilities, having access to high‑quality instruction in a flexible format is essential. After long workdays, online learning is often the only way I can continue pursuing my education while maintaining stability for my household.”
