Jerry Lewis Jr.
The city of Brookhaven has named Jerry Lewis Jr. as their newest deputy chief of police. An Army and National Guard veteran, Lewis is stepping into the role after retiring from a 28-year career in law enforcement with the DeKalb County Police Department. “I am humbled and honored to serve the residents of Brookhaven as their deputy chief of police, and the professional men and women of the Brookhaven Police Department who are so dedicated to the safety and well-being of Brookhaven,” said Lewis. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from CSU.
Joyce Lee
The city of Chino Hills has announced Joyce Lee as their new emergency services coordinator. Lee spent four years in the U.S. Air Force as an emergency manager while completing her master’s degree in emergency services management with Columbia Southern University.
Eric Greaser
The Smith County Emergency Services District Two has hired Eric Greaser as their new fire chief. With over 30 years of experience, Greaser says he is honored to serve the citizens of Smith County. “I am very excited about the potential to improve our services that will save lives and property. We must always remain focused on the mission of our organization’s existence,” he said. Greaser is currently pursuing his master’s degree in fire executive leadership at CSU.
Michael Taylor
Michael Taylor has been named the new chairman for the Missouri Coroner’s Standards and Training Commission. Taylor received Medicolegal Death Investigator training from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and earned his associate degree in fire science from Columbia Southern University. “I believe that the people in our communities deserve coroners that are well trained and that’s what the purpose of this commission is,” he said.
Paul Dow
The City of McKinney has announced that Assistant Fire Chief Paul Dow will serve as interim chief of the McKinney Fire Department. He brings over 27 years of experience to the position. “It is an honor to serve with the men and women of this outstanding fire department. We have a very bright future ahead of us,” he said. He is a 2017 CSU graduate.
Scott Wicks
Scott Wicks has been promoted to senior manager, electronic warfare with SRC, Inc. He has been with the company since 2016. He earned his MBA at CSU in 2021.
Chase Pearson
Chase Pearson has been selected as the first paid fire chief at Williams Fire Department. “I like making a difference if we can,” he said. “It’s a unique experience to show up and when someone is having probably the worst day of their life, whether it’s a medical emergency or a fire, to use those skills that we’ve learned with hundreds if not thousands of hours of training to make a difference to do something positive so it’s very rewarding to be able to use those skills to hopefully make a positive difference for somebody.” He is a 2014 CSU graduate.
Jim Jones
The Town of Fuquay-Varina announced Jim Jones as their newest fire chief. He brings 33 years of experience to the position. “I am more than blessed to have been given an opportunity to lead this great organization,” he Jones. “Our fire department family has been through a lot over the last few months, but we have survived together. He is a 2017 CSU graduate.
John Shafer
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has named John Shafer as the new director of Indiana Fire and Public Safety Training Academy system. Shafer has over 33 years of fire experience as a volunteer firefighter, career firefighter and chief officer. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in fire administration at CSU.
