Jennifer Wilson
Sergeant Jennifer Wilson was recently featured as one of the women in policing for the Mobile Police Department. She has worked in law enforcement for the last 20 years. “I always wanted to work in a field that was different, and I always wanted to be a police officer,” Wilson said. “And being in the military kind of inspired me to be a police officer to continue to serve my community.” She is a 2013 CSU graduate.

Stacy Abel
Delta Dental of Colorado has named Stacy Abel chief people officer. With nearly 20 years of previous experience, Abel will take lead in the human resources and development teams. “Supporting team members and prioritizing a strong, inclusive culture is more important than ever. I’m looking forward to working with our teams to focus on maintaining a culture of belonging and professional fulfillment while positioning DDCO as an employer of choice in Colorado and among health care professionals.” She is a 2014 CSU graduate.

Bradley Reese
Bradley Reese was recently named assistant chief of the Odessa Fire Rescue. Reese got his start with Odessa Fire Rescue when he was 18 years old. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks while pursuing his education. Reese earned his master’s degree in public administration in 2019 at CSU.

Greg Phelia
District Chief Greg Phelia was recently honored by the Rotary Club of Cincinnati for his service to the community at their annual Firefighter Appreciation Day. He has been with the Cincinnati Fire Department for 27 years. He received his MBA in 2022 at CSU.

Melissa Davy
Westerly, a town in Rhode Island, has hired former Westerly Ambulance EMS chief Melissa Davy as assistant town manager. “That was eye-opening to me, that I actually liked the administrative side of things,” she said. “But at that point in my career it wasn’t the right time for me yet. I didn’t have the skill set or the education at the time.” This inspired Davy to go back to earn her degree. She now has a bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services administration from CSU.

Charles Barber
The U.S. National Science Foundation has appointed Charles Barber to serve as chief diversity and inclusion officer. Barber has more than two decades of experience in this field and is a U.S. Army veteran. He is a 2013 CSU graduate.

Nate Turner
Chef Nate Turner, a culinary instructor at the Career Academy and Technical School, was recently awarded a Microsoft grant. Turner came across a tool called The Merge Cube that is a virtual reality tool that will allow his students to practice various learning experiments and not waste as much food. Turner wrote a Microsoft grant to obtain the tablets students need to use the $25 Merge Cubes in food science and culinary lessons. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration at CSU.
