Shane Glaiser
Shane Glaiser has officially been named chief of the Round Rock Fire Department. Glaiser has filled in as the interim chief since October of 2021. He began his career at Round Rock in 1995 and has moved through the ranks over the last 26 years. “I’m grateful for the chance to lead our department with the same commitment to training, innovation and service that have allowed me to develop and grow into who I am today,” Glaiser said. He earned his bachelor’s degree in fire science from CSU.

Carmine DeMilio
Carmine DeMilio was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award by the Manatee County, Florida, Tourist Development. DeMilio serves as the Manatee County Parks and Grounds Maintenance Manager. His efforts to clean up local beaches made an impact on his city. He is a current CSU student pursing his master’s in public administration.

Patrick Lam
Augusta County has announced Patrick Lam as their new emergency management coordinator. He has worked with the Augusta County, Virginia, Fire and Rescue for 10 years as a firefighter, EMT and lieutenant. Lam earned his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in emergency services management from CSU.

Andrey Zalozh
The Clark County Fire District in Washington state has promoted Andrey Zalozh to captain in addition to becoming a firefighter-paramedic. He began interning with the district in 2004, volunteered as a firefighter and began working full time in 2014. He holds an associate degree in fire science from CSU.

Stephen Jenkins
The Portsmouth, Virginia, Police Department has named Stephen Jenkins as one of the new assistant chiefs. He has been working in law enforcement since 1997 and currently holds the rank of lieutenant. He is a CSU student pursing his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in criminal justice.

Troy Brock
Troy Brock was recently named Fire Chief of the Year by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. Brock has served as the Rome/Floyd Fire Department chief since 2015. He received his bachelor’s degree in fire science and his master’s degree in emergency service management from CSU.

Kurt Whisenand
Deputy Chief of the Rockford, Illinois, Police Department, Kurt Whisenand, has announced his retirement. His career spans nearly three decades. Whisenand developed an interest in law enforcement while in college. “I became interested in law enforcement because of the teamwork and camaraderie that this job requires and the fact that you get to stand up for people that can’t stand up for themselves,” he said. He earned his master’s in criminal justice administration from CSU.

Scott Sarver
Scott Sarver is one of three finalists for the position of Iowa City Fire Chief. He has served with the South Metro Fire Rescue in Centennial, Colorado, since 1998. Sarver is a 2019 CSU graduate earning his master’s in public administration.
