Alumnus Bart Dupre Named ASSP Safety Professional of the Year

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has named Bart Dupre the 2025-2026 Region IV Safety Professional of the Year.

For more than 100 years, the ASSP has advanced its members and the safety profession through education, advocacy, standards and a professional community. Each year, the organization honors an occupational safety and health professional who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the safety field while making significant contributions to advancing the profession.

Dupre earned his bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health in 2019 at CSU. He is a health, safety and environmental manager (HSE) with T. Baker Smith LLC.

“Earning my degree was about more than career advancement—it was about personal growth,” he said. “The experience taught me discipline, perseverance and the value of lifelong learning. It has helped shape both my professional success and personal confidence.”
