Columbia Southern University recently developed the following anti-hazing policy in compliance with the “Stop Campus Hazing Act.” You may also find this information in your student conduct handbook and the university catalog.
Columbia Southern University (CSU) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students, regardless of physical location. This Anti-Hazing Policy specifically prohibits any act of hazing carried out during the course of initiation into, affiliation with, or the maintenance of membership in a student organization. In alignment with The Stop Campus Hazing Act (20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)) and Alabama Code § 16-1-23 (2024), hazing in any form is strictly prohibited. While the policy focuses on activities tied to student organizations, all members of the CSU community—including students, faculty, staff, and affiliated individuals—are subject to this policy when participating in any institutional activity, whether online or in person. This includes courses, events, and student organization functions conducted in any format. For questions or to report concerns, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@columbiasouthern.edu .
Sincerely,
Columbia Southern University
