Tonya McCollin Cajuste of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, was recently named the recipient of the Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship. She is currently a business owner and works with for-profit and nonprofit businesses as a writer, mentor and coach, helping individuals navigate adversity, strengthen relationships and cultivate emotional resilience.
“More than merely financial assistance, this scholarship symbolizes hope, opportunity and a chance to keep moving forward,” she said. “I have dedicated my life to serving others; this support would empower me to do so on an even larger scale. My journey has shaped me into someone who believes in the power of healing, transformation and perseverance. With this scholarship, I can continue turning that belief into meaningful action.”
Tonya plans to use this scholarship to earn a master’s degree in psychology.
“Earning my master’s degree in psychology is critical, as it will provide the knowledge and tools to deepen my impact,” she said. “Making a difference in my community has always been my driving force. Whether through mentoring, teaching or writing, I am passionate about helping others grow, heal and build stronger relationships. A master’s in psychology will help ensure that my work is data-informed and creates a lasting, meaningful difference in the lives of others.”
