Take 5 With Corporate Outreach Coordinator Christie Ball

Corporate Outreach Coordinator Christie Ball has been with CSU since July 10, 2010, spending the first 10 years of her employment as an outreach representative. In her current role, Christie handles multiple tasks for the department such as planning partner events and assisting new hires.

We asked her to share more about herself and what she loves most about her career:

  1. Can you describe your role within the Corporate Outreach Department? I wear several hats for our department. As the corporate outreach coordinator I manage our team projects, Learning Partnership program, coordinate our team blitzes and assist with new-hire training.
  2. What do you enjoy most about your job? I think my favorite part of my role within our department is blitz planning and training. I love the logistics that go into planning large-scale partner events and coordinating our teams so that they can be successful during their travels. Training is also a fun part of my job. I love getting to know our new hires and connecting with them. Most of our department travels full time and they get to know each other on the road during events. This is my way of connecting and sharing my knowledge of CSU and our department policies/goals.
  3. Considering your job, what advice would you give to a CSU student? Don’t give up! I traveled as an outreach representative for most of my time at CSU before I took over the coordinator position. I loved having the opportunity to meet our students and hear their stories. So many of them were trying to balance their work and family life as well as earning a college degree. It was incredible to see their hard work pay off and seeing their faces at graduation!
  4. What is your favorite CSU memory or moment? I think what I have enjoyed most is being here for all the big moments. Being a part of CSU as it has reached every goal and milestone has been exciting.
  5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I love spending time with my husband, Steven, and our daughter, Kelly, 6. We love being outdoors. We live in northwest Florida, so we are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Whether we are out on our boat fishing and cruising around Pensacola Bay or spending the weekend at our farm, Pineywoods Plantation, we are always outside every chance we can get!
