CSU Alumnus Named Human Resources Director
The city of Conyers, Georgia named Casey Duren the next director of human resources. He previously worked at the Georgia Department of Labor and Inline Plastics, Hilphoenix and Omni Group International. Duren received his bachelor’s in human resources management from Columbia Southern University.
CSU Fire Alum Published Fire Article
Anthony Rowett Jr. was recently published on firefighternation.com. His article, “Attitude: The Driving Force in the Fire Service”, explains the importance of remaining positive and self-motivated while in the fire service. Rowett is a captain with the Mobile, Ala. Fire Rescue Department and received his master’s degree in emergency services management from CSU.
CSU Knight Sworn in as Police Chief
Police Lt. John Ewanciw was sworn in as the new police chief in Middletown, N.Y. Before working in Middletown, he served at the Orange County Sherriff’s Office Corrections Division. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from CSU.
CSU Graduate Named Assistant Fire Chief
Rick Pearsall will now serve as assistant chief for the Wilmington N.C. Fire Department. He has been with the department for 27 years and has held a variety of positions during that time. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fire science from CSU.
CSU Graduate Named Deputy Chief of Operations
James Ramsey will now serve as deputy chief of operations for the Virginia Beach Fire Department. He has been with the department since 1990 and has been chief officer for the past ten years, among other roles. He received his bachelor’s degree in fire administration from CSU.
CSU Alumnus Nominated Fire Fighter of the Year
Fire fighter/EMT Braxton Lafontaine was nominated for fire fighter of the year for the Diamondhead Fire Department in Mississippi, where he has worked since 2014. Since joining Diamondhead Fire Department, Lafontaine has completed his fire science degree through Columbia Southern University.
