Blackboard Upgrade

In order to continue to provide our students with an exceptional online learning experience, Columbia Southern University will be upgrading from our current version of Blackboard. This upgrade will take place April 19-20, 2017. During this time, Blackboard will be unavailable to all users. This includes students, faculty and university staff. Students in both enrollment options are encouraged to access any course work they may need during the upgrade one week in advance and to work offline, if possible, during the upgrade. Accommodations for LifePace Learning and Term students are outlined below:

Enrollment Option Submission Period

LifePace Learning

Students with an open course during this period will receive at least a two-day adjustment.
Term 4B17 Students will be allowed to submit Unit 8 until 4/23/17. Blackboard access will be extended through Sunday to compensate for the two days during late submission; however, the end date will not be changed so it will not affect students using Federal Student Aid.
Term 5A17 Late submission for Unit 3 allowed until 4/23/17.

Students should also note that grading windows will be affected by the upgrade, and should be prepared for a small delay in grading for assignments submitted a day or two prior to, or after, the affected dates. For students in Term 4B17, Unit 8 grading will be completed by 4/25/17 and Unit 8 will be completed by 4/23/17.

To ensure that their system will meet the compatibility requirements of the upgrade, students should review the information provided by Blackboard here.

CSU wants our students to be prepared for the upgrade. Any questions regarding the compatibility of your current system and Blackboard are welcome, and should be directed to the Help Desk at 1.800.977.8449 ext. 6540, or techsupport@columbiasouthern.edu.
