Continuing Education: New Online Course Offerings

Many CSU students are familiar with our safety and fire continuing education online courses, but did you know that we also offer a variety of other online Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses as well?

The Continuing Education Department is excited to offer students various prep course programs to help prepare them for industry-specific certification examination. Currently, we offer online PMP® and Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate Exam Prep programs. Payment plans are available for both business courses! PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL (PMP®) CERTIFICATE EXAM PREP PROGRAM
Course Cost $3,999.00 (Includes PMP® Certification Exam Fee & Course Materials)
Course Duration 6 months
Course Description Project management professionals have a firm understanding of the basic competencies involved in management and oversight, including areas such as effective time management, managing multiple projects simultaneously, scope and estimation of project undertaking and devising a detailed project plan alongside project risk and cost analysis. The program includes training and exam preparation for students to become a Project Management Professional (PMP®) as designated by the Project Management Institute.

 

* This course satisfies the requisite 35 hours of project management education necessary to sit for the exam.

Certification Requisites PMI requires candidates for the PMP® to meet the additional eligibility requirements including: Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or global equivalent), plus 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education -OR- A four-year degree, plus 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

 

SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT CERTIFICATE EXAM PREP PROGRAM

Course Duration 6 months
Course Description Six Sigma is a training program aimed at business professionals and is proposed to help streamline operations and improve efficiency. Whether in healthcare, finance, government, manufacturing or any other industry, Six Sigma Black Belt training is ideal for current professionals looking to advance in their current position as well as individuals looking to gain employment with any firm that utilizes these concepts and techniques.

 

* Candidates do NOT need to be a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

Certification Requisites Six Sigma Black Belt requires two completed projects with signed affidavits -OR- one completed project with signed affidavit and three years of work experience in one or more areas of the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge.

The Continuing Education Department has also recently launched courses in an online Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Certificate program. This certificate program was created for those currently in the mental health field, those interested in the specialization and others whose professions require them to work with mentally ill patients. While the BHT Certificate consists of four courses (listed below) the courses can be taken separately from earning the BHT Certificate for CEU credit.

  • BHT 1002: Forensic Sociology of Addictions – Available Now
  • BHT 1003: Behavioral Crisis Management – Not yet available
  • BHT 1004: Introduction to Operations – Not yet available

*These courses may transfer as lower level elective credits for CSU degree program courses; however, it is not guaranteed.
