Atlanta Safety Alumni Shares Emergency Planning Insights
Ken Hughlett graduated from Columbia Southern University with a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health and now serves as a senior emergency management specialist for the Colorado Springs Utilities Emergency Management and Business Continuity. He was recently interviewed by Marcus Evans, a renowned business information and training company, regarding emergency planning before and during large power outages.
Fire Chief Shares Strategic Plan for District
Ronald Thompson received his B.S. in Fire Science from CSU and now serves as a third generation fire chief of Grand County Fire Protection District in Colorado, also serving as administrator and chief executive officer. His letter to the editor was featured in the Ski-Hi News as it articulates the strategic plan compiled and put into action by the team surrounding him.
Town Commissioner Race of Hope Mills, North Carolina
CSU alumnus, Bryan Marley, holds an A.A.S. in Fire Science and has served as Cumberland County firefighter for 22 years. For the past 18 months, he has also served as a town commissioner. He is the race to be reelected and continue pursuing what he believes in for his town.
Lieutenant Promotion in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania
Tim Kirsch was recently promoted to lieutenant, along with one other officer. The two are among Bethel Park’s longest-serving police officers. Kirsch will oversee patrol officers. He served in the U.S. Air Force and joined Bethel Park Police in 1992. He earned a master’s and bachelor’s degree from CSU.
Murfreesboro, TN Appoints Fire Chief
Mark Foulks has been named the new chief of the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department. He has a proven record of fire service across the state of Tennessee, and has also served as a fire and emergency services consultant for the University of Tennessee County Technical Assistance Service since 2011. He holds a B.S. in Fire Science from CSU and also completed the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy.
