Chief Talent Officer Named at Eckerd
Robert Larsen, having earned his MBA from Columbia Southern University in 2008, has been hired as Eckerd’s new chief talent officer. Eckerd, a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to serving children and their families through a variety of services, was founded in 1968 by Jack and Ruth Eckerd. Larsen comes with an impressive background in human resources and has worked extensively all over the world.
Weber Serves as New CFO at Sterling Regional MedCenter
Sterling Regional MedCenter welcomes back Tiffany Weber in her new role as chief financial officer. Weber is also a certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, as well as a member of several professional organizations, such as the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Weber earned her master’s degree in business administration from Columbia Southern University in 2012.
U.S. Coast Guard Veteran Promoted to Police Chief
For the past three months, Barry Connell has served as Newark’s interim police chief. Connell, a 25 year veteran with the force, was recently officially sworn in as Newark’s newest police chief. A proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran, he graduated summa cum laude from Columbia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration.
Sarasota County Selects Fire Chief
Michael Regnier, who has served as Sarasota County’s interim fire chief for the past year, will now serve in this role in an official capacity. His duties include supervising a department with more than 500 firefighters, paramedics, and emergency management personnel. Regnier, a third-generation firefighter, received his bachelor’s degree in fire science administration from Columbia Southern University.
Missouri University of Science and Technology Welcomes Massri
Anas Massri was recently appointed assistant vice chancellor for fiscal services at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Massri has a wealth of financial expertise and has worked with other universities and colleges across the U.S., in Abu Dhabi, and the United Arab Emirates. He earned an MBA from Columbia Southern University in 2011.
Top 3 Finalists Named for Brainerd Fire Chief Seat
The Brainerd City Council will soon reach a decision regarding the next city fire chief. Of the top three finalists, Jason Caughey is ranked No. 2. Caughey is currently the fire chief for the Laramie County Fire District No. 2 in Cheyenne, Wyo and has been for a little over four years. He earned his associate’s degree in fire science at Columbia Southern University, and is currently working toward his bachelor’s degree.
Inspirational Assistant Military Science Professor Retires from FAM
Capt. Lacey Sims, Jr., of the Rattler Battallion, will be greatly missed by his students at Florida A&M University. He has served in the United States Army for the past 23 years. During that time, he was awarded a variety of medals and citations, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Lacey earned his MBA from Columbia Southern University in 2010.
