CSU Becomes Exclusive CEU Provider at FDIC

CSU is excited to announce its selection as the exclusive provider of continuing education units at the Fire Department Instructor Conference (FDIC).

Through this agreement, individuals attending seminars at the 2015 FDIC, which runs from April 20-25 in Indianapolis, will be able to earn CEUs through Columbia Southern University.

“FDIC International is extremely pleased and honored to be partnering with Columbia Southern University in providing continuing education credits to the students attending FDIC International 2015. It is indeed a wonderful opportunity for the conference as well as all the firefighters currently pursuing their higher education degrees with our outstanding partner,” said Bobby Halton, editor in chief of Fire Engineering and education director of FDIC.

A CEU is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in continuing education programs. Participants who successfully complete CSU’s approved programs, such as the FDIC seminars, will be awarded CEUs.

“CSU is thrilled to enter this venture with FDIC,” said Billy D. Hayes, a member of the CSU Fire Science Advisory Board and vice president of Admissions, Marketing and Outreach for CSU. “This effort will give those in the fire service more educational opportunities and rewards by boosting their knowledge of the most current industry topics while earning credits.”

Nickie Cooper, director of Continuing Education at CSU, echoed the enthusiasm: “We are extremely excited to partner with FDIC as the CEU provider of the conference. This is the largest conference we have worked with through our CEU Provider Service and we are honored to venture into this opportunity with our friends at FDIC and offer educational enhancements to their attendees.”

FDIC is the world’s largest fire training-based conference and exhibition dedicated to delivering the finest training available to the men and women of the fire service.
