Earlier this month, CSU Military Outreach Director Karl Hoffmann presented a special scholarship to Travis Cutler, one of the 2013 Coast Guard Enlisted Persons of the Year at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
“We wanted to recognize Travis’ commitment to being one of the best in the Coast Guard,” said Hoffmann. “I presented him with a two-year scholarship opportunity with CSU for the online degree of his choice. We feel he is very deserving of this award and hope to help him further his career dreams with an education.”
An avionics electrical technician, Cutler is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of all avionics equipment aboard Coast Guard aircraft. Assigned to the engineering department at Air Station Houston, he serves as the primary quality assurance supervisor, acting as the final inspector on all maintenance performed onboard aircraft.
The Coast Guard award recognizes Cutler’s many achievements, leadership and dedication. He was also promoted to chief petty officer.
