Little Rock Air Force Base Employee Awarded Military Spouse Scholarship

Columbia Southern Education Group (CSEG) recently awarded Jennifer Hughes of Jacksonville, Arkansas, the Chantell Cooley Military Spouse Scholarship.

Hughes, whose husband Staff Sgt. Chase Hughes, NCOIC, serves at the Little Rock Air Force Base, plans to use the scholarship to inspire her fellow military spouses.

“I will be able to impact so many lives, especially other military spouses,” said Hughes. “Battling the issue of underemployment among military spouses is where my passion lies in human resources.”

Hughes is currently a human resources assistant at the Little Rock Air Force Base, and she is eager to reach her dream of being an HR director. To help advance her career, she is seeking an MBA with a concentration in human resource management at Columbia Southern University, an institution of Columbia Southern Education Group.

“Columbia Southern University will allow me to enhance my skills in human resources to better be able to assist workplace issues and guide leadership in positive directions to make the best use of our resources,” she explained.

In her current role as a human resources assistant, Hughes strives to inspire others.

“I strive every day to be an inspiration to the people around me at home and at work. Whether that be sharing healthy recipes, creating workout plans, or advocating for higher education, I know I have the ability to impact so many people in this line of work. I want to make sure my words and actions inspire, assist and guide others,” she said.
