CSU Knight Being Considered for Fire Chief

John Tippett is in the running to be the next fire chief of Charleston, South Carolina. He is one of four finalists. Tippett began at the department in 2009 as deputy chief and assumed the role as interim fire chief when the previous chief resigned in April 2017.

CSU Alumni Published in Fire Engineering

Anthony Rowett Jr., a captain with the Mobile, Alabama Fire Rescue Department, was recently published on His article explores using fireboats as water supply in order to fight structure fires. Rowett earned his bachelor’s degree in fire science and master’s degree in emergency services management, both from CSU.

Knight Named Chief of Staff for S.C. Health Co.

Michael Hildebrand has been named chief of staff for S.C. Health Co. He previously served as chief of staff to the CEO of the GHS Strategic Coordinating Organization. He earned his bachelor’s in business administration and MBA from CSU.

Knight Named Fire Chief

Jason Brandt has been announced as the next fire chief in Skokie, Illinois. His fire career began in 1998 and he has served in many roles. He earned his master’s degree in emergency services management from CSU.

Knight Announces Candidacy for Sheriff

Joshua Nicholson recently announced that he would be running for sheriff in Inyo County, California. He is an Army and California National Guard veteran and earned his bachelor’s in criminal justice from CSU.
