CSU Knight Running for Sherriff
Mike Hughes of Omaha, Nebraska announced that he will be running for Douglas County sheriff. Hughes is an Army veteran and received his master’s degree in public administration from CSU.
CSU Knight Creates Military-to-Civilian Career
Ashley Penn of Bowling Green, Kentucky joined the Navy in 2008. While serving in the military, she earned an associates and bachelor’s degree from CSU. She retired from the military in 2016 and now works as a program director at the Simpson County Detention Center.
CSU Knight Appointed Florida Violent Crime and Drug Control Council Member
Rob Hicks, police chief in Leesburg, Florida, was appointed to the Florida Violent Crime and Drug Control Council by Gov. Rick Scott. Hicks is an Army veteran and earned his master’s degree from CSU.
CSU Knights Appointed as Director of Fire Academy
Fire Chief Jacob McAfee has been appointed as the new director of the Fire Academy at Fresno City College. McAfee is a Marine Corps veteran and earned his master’s degree in occupational safety and emergency management from CSU.
CSU Knight Named Fire Chief
James Todd will serve as the fire chief of Gibsonville, N.C. beginning in late November. Todd earned his associates and bachelor’s from CSU and is currently pursuing a master’s in occupational safety and health.
CSU Knight Wins Innovation Award
Shawn Hidgins was selected as the recipient of the Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award. This award honors k-12 educators, administrators and support personnel in Alabama. Shawn is the director of technology for the Jacksonville City School System and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and information technology from CSU. He is currently pursuing his MBA.
CSU Knight to begin New Role as Fire Chief
Rudy Ruiz will begin his new role as fire chief in Perrysburg, Ohio. He first began at the station in 2015 when he was hired as a deputy chief. Ruiz earned his master’s degree in public administration from CSU.
