The Continuing Education Department is excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new safety course, CE 1101- CHST Exam Prep Course. Enrollment for this course will launch later this summer. This course prepares students for the Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification Exam offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
This online course was designed to provide students with a comprehensive review of the CHST subject matter which includes:
- Safety program management and administration
- OSHA regulations and inspections
- Training and orientation
- Hazard communication
- Inspections and audits
- Job hazard analysis/pre-job planning
- Accident investigation
- Record keeping requirement
CHST Certification Exam Information through BCSP:
The 200 question certification exam is administered through the Board of Certified Safety Professional. To find more information about the exam application process, please visit www.bcsp.org/CHST.
CHST Certification Exam Requirements:
- All individuals applying for the CHST must have a high school diploma or GED
- CHST candidates must have 3 years of experience with at least 35% of primary job duties involve safety, health and environmental practice related to the construction industry
Prerequisites to take CHST Exam Prep Course with CSU:
Although there are no course prerequisites, we recommend that students have a TI-30XIIS calculator before beginning course work. Students will also need access to speakers/headphones due to audio presentations built within course.
Course Cost: $550 (includes a downloadable workbook with additional practice problems for studying once students successfully complete course with a 70% or higher)
CEUs Earned Upon Course Completion: 3.3
Course Length: This course is a 10 week, self-paced, open enrollment course. Once students complete each assignment in the course with a 70% or higher, they will receive a certificate of completion that will list the CEUs earned.
CE 1101- CHST Exam Prep Course enrollment is scheduled to begin later this summer.
