CSU Announces Program Improvements

It is Columbia Southern University’s (CSU) commitment to our students and prospective students to explore industry standards and consider viable options, which will not only meet the needs of our students but also prepare them to be successful in their communities and give them competitive advantage in their chosen career fields. The University must continually review these industry standards to determine relevance and sustainability. As a result, there are times when we modify our programs in order to implement a new and improved curriculum.

CSU recently announced improvements to some programs in the Criminal Justice and Occupational Safety and Health fields. The specific programs are listed below:

B.S., Criminal Justice Administration – Program Improvement
The College of Safety and Emergency Services has announced upcoming improvements to the Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice Administration degree program that will be effective beginning in Term 1B18.

The Major B requirements have been removed; therefore, students will no longer have to select two courses.  The Major Requirements provide all necessary courses to promote an initial foundational knowledge base in the field, which will allow the student to move through the program and excel in the higher level courses within the curriculum.

Students are encouraged to speak with their Academic Advisor for questions related to the program improvements.  To view the improvements, please visit the CSU website in the following locations:

BS, Occupational Safety and Health – Program Improvement

The College of Safety and Emergency Services has announced upcoming improvements to the Bachelor of Science, Occupational Safety and Health degree program that will be effective beginning in Term 1B18.

The degree features several new required courses and updates to existing required courses.  The improvements have been implemented in order to better align CSU’s programs with the Board of Certified Safety Professional’s study criteria for their Associate and Certified Safety Professional (ASP & CSP) exams.  As a result of these improvements, CSU students who elect the new program will be better prepared to sit for these professional certification exams.
