By: Bruce Roberson, Military Outreach Representative for Kentucky

On Thursday, November 17, 2016, I had the privilege to attend the first college graduation ceremony at Fort Knox in Kentucky. The ceremony was held at the Waybur Theater.  Opening remarks were given by Dr. Jacqueline Jenkins, the education services officer for Fort Knox. The keynote speaker was Major General Christopher Hughes, the commanding general of Fort Knox, Kentucky. There were 74 Graduates from 18 different universities.  Columbia Southern University had six students in the program, two of whom walked in the ceremony.   These CSU graduates were Mr. Samuel Edwards and Ms. Samantha Harmon.  Mr. Edwards received his master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management.  Ms. Harmon received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.   After the graduation ceremony was a reception at the Saber and Quill Club on Fort Knox for the graduates and guests.
