Policy Updates

The Admission Requirements Policy has been revised and is available on the CSU website at http://www.columbiasouthern.edu/admissions/requirements.  In order to satisfy identity verification requirements, students are now required to submit a color image of a valid government-issued photo ID during the admission process. In addition, the following policies have been revised and will go into effect on June 30, 2016.  Please contact your Academic Advisor should you have any questions.

Final Examination Proctor Policy

  • Language was incorporated to outline expectations for students enrolled in courses that utilize eTextbooks and/or Integrated Learning Resources.
  • Acceptable course materials that can be utilized during the final examination are now provided within the course and not in the policy.
  • Included language regarding students having access to the exam password being a violation.
  • Further defined what mobile devices cannot be used to take an exam or used for reference during examination administration.

Graduation Requirements Policy

  • Additional criteria when determining honors will be required. Students who have a record of an academic integrity violation will not qualify for honors.
  • Students who have completed degree program requirements and are pending a conferral date may reach out to the Office of the Registrar to request a Letter of Pending Graduation if needed for degree verification, promotion boards, school admission, or other work-related circumstance.
  • Students who use Federal Student Aid to cover any portion of tuition are required to complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling.

Incomplete Course Policy

  • Language was incorporated to address Incomplete eligibility for students enrolled in dissertation courses of the Doctorate of Business Administration program.
  • Students applying for a Term Incomplete will have two options available: 30 days for $50 and 60 days for $100.
  • Language was added regarding potential impacts to federal student aid, satisfactory academic progress, and academic course load.

Incomplete for Special Circumstances Policy

  • Language was incorporated to address Incomplete eligibility for students enrolled in dissertation courses of the Doctorate of Business Administration program.
  • The timeframe for processing an Incomplete for Special Circumstances request is 7-to-10 business days.
  • Language was added regarding potential impacts to federal student aid, satisfactory academic progress, and academic course load.

Student Identity Verification Policy

  • This policy was updated to identity verification requirements to align with the updated Admission Requirements Policy.

Textbook and Course Material Policy

  • Incorporated language as it relates to eTextbooks and Integrated Learning Resource courses.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Credit awarded for experiential cannot exceed 25 percent of the credits required for the degree.
  • Students may appeal transfer credit decisions by submitting a request to the Office of the Registrar, which will be escalated to the appropriate Academic Program Director for consideration.

To support the re-instatement of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program, CSU will be including a new section within the CSU and Vietnam Student Handbooks that outlines policies specific to students enrolled in the DBA program.  This new section will be published in the handbooks on June 30, 2016.  DBA students will be required to adhere to all other CSU policies, in addition to the policies outlined within this new section of the handbooks.
