The Continuing Education Department at CSU is excited to announce that it has joined forces with Distinctive HR to offer its students a PHR/SPHR Exam Prep course webinar series.
What is the PHR/SPHR exam?
The Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that individuals possess the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass an examination, demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge within the field. The Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is the senior-most human resource certification for those who have demonstrated a strategic mastery of the HR body of knowledge.
These certifications demonstrate a human resource professional’s commitment to education and growth. Employers are increasingly recognizing the value of the certification as a “preferred” qualification for HR positions.
Testing is offered twice a year through the HR Certification Institute and involves a 4-hour, 225-question rigorous exam covering all areas of human resources. Many HR professionals find that they can benefit from completing a test prep curriculum prior to taking the exam.
How does it work?
There are three different series to choose from. For 11 weeks, students will meet once weekly for a 3-hour live, interactive webinar. Students who have registered for a webinar series will have continued access to its webinar recordings.
Students will also receive access to practice exam questions and testing games, flash cards, a library of audio CDs, study materials and a comprehensive final practice exam.
Am I Eligible to take the PHR/SPHR exam?
PHR and SPHR certification is intended for professionals who have at least two years of exempt-level HR work experience. To be eligible to take either exam, candidates must demonstrate that at least 51 percent of their daily activities are within the human resource function.
