CSU Hosts First 5k in Orange Beach, Alabama

Columbia Southern University is excited to host the first annual #CSUKnightsRun 5k in Orange Beach, Alabama!

The event will take place on May 7, 2016 and will benefit United Service Organization Northwest Florida, an organization that serves more than 12,000 local service members every month. The race will kick off at 7:30 a.m. at the Orange Beach SportsPlex and travel through the beautiful Backcountry Trail.

Even participants who aren’t in the Gulf Coast area can still participate. The race will also have a virtual component, which means you can participate from wherever you are in the world!

In Orange Beach, the race will conclude with a fun after-party at the SportsPlex with an awards ceremony, music, refreshments and sponsor booths.

The USO is celebrating 75 years of strengthening America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service. This is a perfect time to show your support! USO Northwest Florida has three centers that provide resources to nine military bases in our area. The USO works hard to create a home away from home for our nation’s heroes. Come set a new personal best for those that give their personal best every day.

I still haven’t received any information on the virtual run. Is this common? I apologize for the simpleness of this question, I am just used to receiving all information on races at least a week in advance.
