CSU Takes Over Jacksonville

On August 21, Columbia Southern students and alumni gathered for a networking social at the River City Brewing Company in Jacksonville, Florida. This event was sponsored by the CSU Student Veterans Association.

Approximately 50 students and alumni attended the event, their career fields included environmental health and safety, business administration, 47372189291939.XFtxmUnfn2oQCTGSyWtK_height640military, and internet and computer technology.

CSU was represented at the event by members of the Student and Alumni Engagement and Military Outreach departments to make the event a success.

The venue provided an open-air area for everyone to enjoy hor d’ouevres and hold conversation. The location provided a beautiful view of downtown Jacksonville, also known as the River City. The conversation was light, a few sea stories were told, and a live musician provided a great mix of tunes.

Many students remarked that they came out just to meet students in the area.  Three attendees were picked as the lucky recipients of CSU goodie bags. Dan Schultz, the CSU SVA president, said, “Everyone had a good time. It was a great event and it was nice to meet and network with many of the other students. I found that many of them have similar interests and will most likely stay in contact.”
