Those in an office or business environment spend between 65–90 percent of their time engaged in some form of direct communication with others. Sometimes, these interactions can be… problematic.
To help you deal with these types of conversations, the CSU Center for Continuing Education will offer “Handling Difficult Conversation and Dealing with Conflict” at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the CSU campus in Orange Beach, Ala. The three-hour event will feature corporate trainer Howard Cross and will be available simultaneously via a live webinar for those not in the area.
“We wanted to provide a seminar geared directly towards a person in a supervisory/management position and/or an individual who deals with human resource situations on a daily basis,” explained CSU Director of Continuing Education Nickie Cooper. “Conflict is inevitable, and rather than completely avoiding it or handling it in the wrong manner, Howard teaches you skills to assist with tackling problems in the workplace head on.”
In this fascinating workshop, participants will learn a step-by-step process for orchestrating effective interactions for difficult situations and tips on dealing with conflict. Cross is an expert in corporate training and development with more than 25 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, first-responders and other organizations.
Costs are $30 for general public, $25 for CSU students, alumni and learning partners and a $100 flat rate for groups of five. Those attending via online will receive instructions on how to log in to the webinar.
