The Continuing Education Department at CSU is partnering with Student, Alumni and Engagement to offer a special workshop for those in the fire industry.
Scheduled for Nov. 5-6, at the DeKalb County Training Facility in Tucker, Ga., the “Career Advancement: Fire Service Professionals” workshop targets firefighters interested in advancing their careers and seeking a promotion. This event will be part of a series of industry-specific workshops the duo plans to conduct around the nation.
Student, Alumni and Engagement will review topics such as preparing for an interview, resume and cover letter counseling, written exam preparation, communication skills and other job preparation items.
Keith Padgett, a retired chief-fire marshal and CSU fire and emergency medical services program director, will serve as an industry expert on the second day of the workshop. He will be joined by other experts in discussing career advancement, personnel issues, emergency incident strategic and tactical skills and more.
“We are very excited to present these workshops as they will feature industry-specific experts and career counselors,” said Bridget Swingle, Continuing Education supervisor. ”They understand what it takes to get a promotion and make yourself stand out from the rest.”
Registration is $115 and $99 for CSU alumni, students and learning partners. To learn more about this unique opportunity, visit our CSU events page.
Swingle added that the next workshop will be “Career Advancement: Criminal Justice Professionals.” A date and location will be announced soon.
