CSU Career Services continues to offer the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) to connect current students and recent graduates with disabilities eager to prove their abilities in the workplace to employers for paid summer internships and full-time job opportunities.
The WRP provides students and recent graduates with disabilities in all fields of study the opportunity to market their abilities to a national audience of employers. If selected, candidates will have their resume and job skills posted on a national database for businesses to view. The information remains on the WRP database for a year and provides a unique opportunity for candidates to gain access to job opportunities.
Career Services helps students and graduates with disabilities prepare materials and themselves for the required phone interview with a WRP recruiter.
Criteria to participate in the program includes:
- Be a United States citizen (veterans are strongly desired)
- Have an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability making you eligible to use the Schedule A hiring authority
- Be a current, full-time, degree-seeking student unless you are taking a reduced course load due to a disability or are in your final term OR
- Have graduated after October 2013
The WRP is run on an annual basis and requires student applicants to have a remote interview with one of its recruiters. Registration will begin Aug. 26 and run through Oct. 8. The interviews will take place between Oct. 20 and Nov. 19. Space is limited, so apply early.
