CSU leaders to speak at FRI conference

CSU Vice President of Admissions, Marketing and Outreach Billy Hayes and Director of Training and Development Ron Dennis will be presenting at the International Association of Fire Chiefs Fire Rescue International Conference on Aug. 14 in Chicago at McCormick Place.

The FRI conference, which runs from Aug. 13-17, features prominent fire and emergency service leaders from across North America and around the globe who come together for learning, networking and collaboration. FRI education covers all areas of the emergency service: navigating the political environment, managing change, ethical leadership, EMS issues, career development and more.

Hayes and Dennis, who are fire service veterans,  will discuss “Accountability Expectations for Company Officers” during their session in the Company Officer Leadership Symposium. This program will focus on specific accountability areas which every company officer should strive for in order to be a successful leader.

Hayes will also speak with Byron Kennedy, EMS chief at Atlanta Department of Fire Rescue on Aug. 16 at FRI. The pair will address “Accountability: It’s a Two-way Street” and discuss how leaders encourage and empower their team members to hold them equally accountable with clearly stated rules, standards, and goals.

Lastly, CSU invites all graduates, students, learning partners and friends to stop by our booth, #2441.  The exhibit hall in McCormick Place is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug 16 and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17.

We are drawing for a complimentary registration to our Company Officer Academy as well as the Chief Brunacini Fire-Rescue Leadership Institute. Meet our special guest on Friday, Mike Lombardi, who played the role of Mike Silletti on the hit show “Rescue Me.”
