For the women in law enforcement, this class is just for you.
CSU and the Orange Beach (Ala.) Police Department are presenting two Advanced Female Tactical Training sessions on Oct. 22-26 at several locations in Orange Beach.
These workshops will offer females in law enforcement unarmed and armed training and will feature defensive tactics instructor Amy Foster, a 20-year veteran of law enforcement and owner of Female Advanced Tactical Training, and Dorcia Meador, a retired police officer who runs Precision Pistol Training. This pair was very popular with students in the first tactical training classes held in April.
The first workshop, set for Oct. 22-24, will provide instruction for defense tactics needed in an armed situation and focus on firearms skills. Cost for this workshop is $300 for CSU students, alumni and members of learning partners.
A second workshop will be held Oct. 25-26 and addresses close-quarters combat training for women in law enforcement. Attendees will learn about escort and control holds, controlled take-downs, knife defense and other methods of dealing with controlling subjects in possibly aggressive situations. This unarmed course costs $225 for CSU students, alumni and members of learning partners to attend.
